Students, teachers and parents… lend us your ears!

“Lights are on, audience were eagerly waiting… announcement started…message from Sugathakumari teacher… my dear children …  ASAPians of GHSS Kunhimangalam presents ‘Snehapoorvam Amma’…  a puppet was slowly moving up…. applause….”

Well begun is half done! Yes, asapians at GHSS Kunhimangalam are now a part of history. It is for the first time in Kerala that the school students do an anti narcotic campaign through the rare art form, puppetry. 


Report about Puppet Show on Mathrubhumi Kazhcha on July 07, 2017

In connection with ‘The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’, a puppet show was organized by ASAP students in coordination with Kerala Governments Anti drug awareness programme ‘Vimukthi’. This awareness programme was observed at GHSS Kunjimangalam, on 27th June 2017. The puppet show focused on dramatizing the ill effects of drug abuse and created awareness against illicit trafficking of drugs.

The programme was inaugurated by Hon Revenue Minister Shri E Chandrasekharan and was chaired by Hon. MLA Shri TV Rajesh.

Puppet drama titled ‘Snehapoorvam Amma’ was based on an article by famous poet Sugathakumari. It was directed by Pramod Aduthila, who is an artist and an expert in making puppets. Story and songs were written by Dr. Jinesh Kumar Eramam, Malayalam faculty of the same institution. 
Puppet drama was the result of a yearlong effort of ASAP students at GHSS Kunhimangalam.

Puppets were made from used plastic water bottles. Students painted and stitched clothes to puppet. Sound recording were done by asapians at professional recording studio. All the asap students of this institution were involved in the puppet drama by making posters, puppet movements, singing, event management etc.  It was not just staging a drama, but a creative team work. The students have accommodated all their skills in this project viz communication, coordination, organization etc which they have acquired from asap classes.

Recent surveys show that school students are much addicted to drugs. Many such cases were reported in and around Kerala. ASAP students at GHSS Kunhimangalam believe that they can spread a new insight in the pitfalls of substance abuse among youngsters through this venture. The team which has already staged the drama at three venues is planning to take it to all educational institutions in Kerala!  Programme Coordinator Ratheesh Kazhakakkaran, Programme Manager K Sankaran along with teachers at GHSS Kunhimangalam extended all their support to the asapians and the project.

Shri T V Rajesh has taken up this as an MLA project and is planning to collaborate with excise department and Govt. of Kerala. As part of that, a work shop on drug abuse is expected to conduct at Kalliassery constituency under ASAP banner by Excise Commissioner Shri. Rishi Raj Singh IPS. 
ASAPians at GHSS Kunhimangalam has succeeded in making their end project of foundation module unit under the coordination of SDE A P K Abdul Rasheed.

A ‘professional touch’ was followed throughout this project. For asapians at GHSS Kunhimangalam, ‘Snehapoorvam Amma’ wasn’t an extra activity; it was their additional skill acquisition programme’!!

Meet the young business tycoons!


Muhammad Ashfaque

ASAPian Muhammad Ashfaque joined the Skill Course Meeting, Conference and Event Planner with great expectations. Supplementing his hopes, the course laid down a pathway for his enterprising dreams. From the very 8th day of MCEP, he went on to start his own wedding planner company along with four of his buddies. This is the story of Muhammad Ashfaque, an 18 year old ASAPian from GHSS Cheruthazham under GHSS Kottila SDC.

His team known as Green Leaf Event Planners started its journey of enterprising on April 2017 and within the 3 months has executed 4 weddings with a turnover of Rupees seven lakhs. They have also committed 3 weddings in the coming months. They mainly focus on catering services and photography.

This young entrepreneur has captured the attention of many biggies in the social arena. T.V. Rajesh MLA had praised his efforts and he was honoured by Mr. P Karunakaran MP in a conference of higher secondary school teachers. He was the youngest delegate and the only student to participate in the workshop SMILE by Bekal Resorts Development Corporation.

Dileep Kumar

Ever wondered how to get 2, 16,076 likes for your Facebook page? ASAPian Dileep Kumar has the answer. Dileep is a student of GHSS Kadannapally who joined Meeting, Conference and Event Planner with a passion to excel in the show business.

He is the admin of online movie promotion Facebook page ‘Apple Matinee’. Dileep has ventured into this with a far-sighted vision of its scope. To add to the excitement, eight BTech engineering students are working under this young entrepreneur.

He has made a profit of Rupees four lakh and above. Apple Matinee’s work includes promoting movies, reporting movie news, reviewing moviesetc. The last movie with which Dileep associated was Baahubali-2. This 17 year old has a long way to go.
